Overview
The Buffalo Chip at the CU Book Store offers hardware maintenance and repair service for Apple (Mac) computers, both in and out of warranty.Warranty Service
The Buffalo Chip is a fully authorized warranty service center for Apple computer products.Rates
The Buffalo Chip accepts UCB ACARDs, IN's, cash, VISA, MasterCard, and AMEX for payment.
The following is a list of our services and the associated fees:

| Warranty Service Repair service for in-warranty Apple computers. Please note, this does not cover accidental damage such as spills or drops. | no fee |

Diagnostic Fee This fee is charged for out-of-warranty repairs when the unit is checked in. It will be applied to the cost of any services performed. Repairs that are in-warranty are not charged this fee. |

Labor Fee This fee is charged for out-of-warranty repairs only. |

| Data Backup / Transfer This only applies to functional hard drives. At this time we do not offer data recovery from defective hard drives. | $66 |

Data Backup / Transfer (bundled w/ repair service) This is an additional service offered if you are having your computer repaired by The Buffalo Chip. This only applies to functional hard drives. At this time we do not offer data recovery from defective hard drives. |

Hard Drive Replacement This fee includes labor and reinstall of the OS. It does not include data backup/transfer, install of applications, or the cost of the new hard drive. |

Memory Install This service is available for both Macs and PCs. We charge very reasonable rates for the memory we carry in-store, and charge no install fee for memory purchased from The Buffalo Chip. There is a $33 fee otherwise. |
