Print Your Model

3D printing will play a critical role in the design and manufacturing process of the future. A powerful prototyping tool, 3D printers allow you to physically hold a digital model within hours – allowing you to make changes on the fly and refine your product throughout the design process. If you aren’t a designer, 3D printers can still prove incredibly useful. Mounts, adapters, and more can be in your hands in no time, at a fraction of the cost.

We have a few 3D printers in the store that we have made available for customer use. Our printers use Fused Deposition Modeling, wherein a model is run through a program which breaks it down into slices of a set thickness. This new file is then fed to the printer, which adds plastic, layer-by-layer, until the model is fully built. We use PLA, a biodegradable corn-based plastic, for all of our in-store prints, as well as customer orders. If you have a model you’d like printed, we are happy to help.

New! Stereolithography (SLA) resin printing is now available
A newer printing technique, SLA pulls solid objects from a liquid resin bath, curing each layer of the object with UV light until the model is fully constructed. This allows for much finer detail than FDM printers and for much more intricate prints. This is especially useful for figurines and board game pieces.
