Interested in employment at the CU Book Store? We employ over 60 students each semester, and offer a competitive hourly wage.

Duties may include:

  • Greeting customers
  • Picking and shipping orders
  • Assisting with in-store pickup
  • Working as a cashier
  • Customer service
  • Restocking shelves
  • Cleaning/Sanitizing
Term commitment and schedules vary and are based on student availability, performance, and store needs.

Please note You must be a currently enrolled CU student to apply. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester in order to work in a student job, and graduate students must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours per semester to work in a student job.

  • Positions Available: 60
  • Hours: 10-20 hours/week. Term commitment and schedules vary and are based on student availability, performance, and store needs. Shifts may include late nights & weekends during and before the first week of classes. Store hours vary during back-to-school and some hours may be worked outside of normal business hours.

Tech Department Student Employee

Job Duties:

  • Assist customers with technology products, including cables, adapters, calculators, headphones, and computer recommendations
  • Maintaining stock level and organizing/cleaning the department
  • Renting laptops
  • Preparing prints on 3D printers
  • Running VR demos (post-COVID)
Qualifications
  • Good customer service skills

  • Prior experience with 3D modeling/printing is a bonus

Hours: 10 to 20 hours a week

Description: Do you like technology and talking about it? Can you give someone advice on how much memory to put into their computer or tell them the difference between onboard and discrete graphics? The Tech Department is looking for student employees to man the Tech Desk. This is a heavily customer service-centric position; primarily, you’ll be answering questions about our technology products, including cables, adapters, calculators, and headphones, providing guidance to customers who ask for it. Maintaining stock and keeping a tidy work area is a big part of the job, as product can move quickly though the department. You’ll also be suggesting and renting computers to customers. We have four 3D printers (FDM and SLA) available to customers for custom jobs. Printing jobs will be prepared by you, and you can find and suggest other models to print for general sale. We also have a laser cutter and a crafting machines, so if you’re crafty, this might be the position for you. We’re always looking for new ways to use these tools for the store and welcome new ideas. When things get back to a sense of normalcy, we also run VR demos for customers, which you’ll handle. If this sounds like the right fit for you, let us know!
