Return Policy
CU Book Store receipt and valid photo ID are required to process all validated refunds/exchanges. All merchandise must be in original, unopened condition. The original credit card must be present for all web order returns made in-store. Funds will be refunded to the same account/credit card that each item was originally charged. Otherwise, in-store credit will be given.
Any non-validated refund/exchange may be issued as in-store credit.
Course materials and technology returns/exchanges are only accepted at the University Memorial Center (UMC) location.
Clothing, Gifts, & Non-Course Materials
Clothing, Gifts, & Non-course materials in original, unopened condition may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase date with valid photo ID and receipt.
Credits made to debit and credit cards, or your tuition and fee bill, may not be reflected on your account for 3-5 business days. The CU Book Store will not be responsible for any associated overdraft charges.

CU Book Access
All CU Boulder undergraduate students are opted into CU Book Access and receive access to all of their required course materials before the first day of class for a one-time flat-rate price each fall and each spring semester. The cost of the program for the 2025-26 academic year will be $259 (plus tax) per semester, fall and spring. Learn how the program works and find answers to frequently asked questions.
Students may opt out by the course drop deadline without penalty. Instructions on opting out are located in the Student Quick Start Guide in the 'Get Help' section of the CU Book Access website.
